Owner and puppy reunited at after two years

One of the things I look forward to about going home the most (besides me a good meal) is seeing my dog, Sydney.

Coming through the door, I can tell the second she recognizes me and proceeds to jump up on me and hyperventilate until I pet her enough that she calms down and takes a drink of water. It’s this particular moment I look forward to every homecoming, because mainly, it makes me feel good. If my dog can be THIS happy to see me, then I must be doing something right. Right?

The connection we have with our animals can be unexplainable. The second I put my tennis shoes on Sydney is ready to be my running partner. And when I put my bathing suit on, she’ll run outside to lay next to me on our deck while I tan. She can tell when we I’m upset and will console me by resting her chin on my leg and curling up next to me on the couch.

I can’t imagine losing her. And if for some reason she ever strays away from home, I would hope that someone would make sure she got back to me.

This leads me into today’s heartwarming story which comes from The Gainesville Sun.

Two years ago a former UF student lost her pet Yorkie. On Saturday she got a call from the Alachua County Humane Society, who told her they had found her dog.

According to the article the owner said, “It seems like a dream,” Mossel said. “I didn’t think I’d ever see him again. I felt like I lost my child.”
