Sarah Palin: Funny stuff
Sarah Palin has given the country a lot to talk since she burst onto the political scene just a few short weeks ago. More specifically, she’s given political satirists a lot to work with. She’s not just the first woman to (almost) get a heartbeat away from the presidency, she also looks remarkably like Tina Fey.
This is good satire. It highlights the the flaws of Palin, brings out the inconsistencies, and makes her appear foolish, but to be honest, the real interview accomplished those things as well.
Palin’s a comic figure, and it’s really a sign of the strange political times that she’s been scooped out of the Alaskan waters by McCain’s nets and delivered to the forefront of American politics (and subsequently sequestered from the media).
She’s been a popular topic in the nation’s political cartoons: Lampooning her George W Bush-ishness. Questioning just how far McCain went with background checks. Her recent refusals to talk to the media. Her experience.
